Plant Highlights

Glasswort is a perennial, low crawling grouncover that is native to the Western North American Continent. It has scale like leaves, looking similar to an ants antenni. The leaves are green and fleshy, creating a bush like appearance when reching full height. The groundcover prefers alkali to coastal soils and can be found in marshes, welands, and riperian forest edges. The leaves and flowers are prefered by butterflies, making it great in the garden.
