Plant Highlights

Ceanothus ‘Skylark’ is a good choice for small gardens. This lush green, compact Ceanothus thyrsiflorus cultivar is a good choice for small gardens. It is slow growing to 3-6 ft tall with 5 foot spread. Dark blue flower spikes appear in spring and again in fall. Plant in full sun. Skylark will grow in sand but prefers clay or heavy soils. If soil and drainage are less than ideal, plant Ceanothus rootballs a little higher than the surrounding grade. A favorite of butterflies and pollinators.
