The Moosa Creek plant database makes it easy to search based on various criteria important to you and then immediately see the results of that search. For example if you would like to see all plants that grow in part shade, between 5-6 feet tall and have blue flowers, you simply enter those criteria and search the data base.
Establishing your Search Criteria
The available search criteria for searching includes Plant Type, Sun Requirements, Water Requirements and so forth. Each creteria is further broken down into elements. The creteria Sun Requirement for exaple includes Sun, Part Sun and Shade. All of those can be selected or none, depending upon your interest. To select a criteria you simply check the box next to the element you are interest in.
You can also add an alpha criteria to you search. For example if you want a ground cover salvia you could enter "salvia" or "sage" in the name field, and ground cover in the Plant Type.
A complete list of criteria includes Plant type, sun requirements, water requirements, flower color, blooming season., height, spread, wildlife attractors, plant family, plant origin, plant community, soil characteristics, special characteristics and tradition landscape plant substitutes.
After your criteria have been defined and the seach made, the results are displayed in the body of the page. Basic information about the plants are displayed including a picture of the plants, a short description and inventory information. From here you can see more detail about selected plants with the Learn More Button, Generate a special order, add plants to My Plant List or add additional criteria to further refine your search.
