Plant Highlights

This LiveForever is native to rocks and cliffs of Catalina Island. An attractive 6” tall rosette eventually spreading to 1’-2’ wide makes for a small-scale groundcover in gardens or a great container plant. Valued for its tolerance of heavy soils. Anemone-like in form, grey chalky leaves get attractive pink tips when grown in full sun with minimal water. Clusters of yellow centered white flowers atop 1’ tall stems in the spring attract hummingbirds. Infrequent but deep watering is recommended.

Dudleyas are susceptible to rot above ground if moisture accumulates in the rosette: plant them on a slight angle to drain water more quickly. Do not water in summer during dormancy unless grown in sandy soils or containers, then you can apply infrequent summer watering.
