Plant Highlights

Armeria maritima is a compact evergreen perennial which grows in low grass-like clumps and sends up long stems that support globes of purple pink flowers. It is the truc native Sea Pink not to be confused with the more commonly found European Sea Pink. It does well in gardens designed as xeriscapes or rock gardens. May be massed as a ground cover for small areas. Do not prune in fall. Remove dead foliage in spring and flower stems after flowering.

The plant can be found in the wild in coastal areas. It can grow in dry, sandy, saline conditions such as those at beaches and salt marshes.
