Plant Highlights

This selection of coffeeberry, from a north facing slope on Montara Mountain, has large, dark leaves that are rolled under at the edges, giving it a Rhododendron like look. It will grow 8' high and 8' wide. Showy red to purple berries appear in fall and persist into winter. Plant in full sun or shade and give occasional summer water. The new growth on this shrub is a vibrant red. A versatile background plant, as well as being the host of many beneficial insects.
