Plant Highlights

This ceanothus is native to San Luis Obispo county where it grows on coastal bluffs. Though it prefers the coast this ceanothus can and will grow great inland, where some shade may be advisable. Small dark green leaves, and an intricately branching habit, are the perfect background to show off blue flowers occurring in early spring, as early as January or February. Maritima is ideal for small scale gound cover, borders or rock gardens.
