This bright, cheery native sunflower can be an annual, biennial, or perennial depending on conditions.It will stay about 1 ft.tall and has orange to orange-red, fragrant flowers from March - July, (longer with water), Plant in sun to part shade, preferably in sandy soil. It will survive on very little water but also tolerate some regular garden watering . We grow this plant because of its value for butterfly gardens colorful as well as its flowers.
