This small evergreen tree is similar to the Western Mountain Mahogany but grows a little fuller and is limited in its range to San Diego Orange and Imperial County below 4500'. This makes a great multi-trunk hedging plant or it can be pruned into a small tree rarely gowing above 12' high. its flowers are insignificant but the seed plumes are like small silvery feathrs that are particularly attractive when back lit by the setting sun. It is tolerant of a wide range of soils including clay is very drought tolerant
