Santa Barbara Milkvetch is a leguminous  perennial that is native to California and is endemic to California. Also known as Southern California Locoweed  it grows from Santa Barbara to Orange County into Chino hills. Light and lacy silver gray foliage showcases cream colored flowers from Spring through Summer. Please be aware that this plant often dies back to the taproot in the summer.  This plant is an important host for the larvae of the Silvery Blue Butterfly and Western Tailed Blue Butterfly.
