This sage is very useful in the garden. It is tolerant of heat and needs very little water  making its creeping and groundcover characteristics a good match for rocky hillsides or barren areas. This a slow-growing spreader tha is often found growing near granite rocks  and tougher conditions where other sage varieties have a harder time. The flowers are blueish-purple and are in bloom from spring to early summer  providing butterflies  hummingbirds  and pollinators with a slow-growing field of flowers to visit. The leaves are a gray-green  and fragrant when crushed.
