This plant is a large evergreen shrub and has beautiful shiny dark green foliage. The new growth leaves show red before maturing to the dark green. Small white flowers appear in clusters in the spring. This is a very fast growing plant but check your low temperatures before planting as Sumac will not tolerate frost. It is good for informal hedges or screens  or at the back of a perennial native garden.
