Baccharis emoryi is a species of baccharis known by the common name Emory's baccharis. It is native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico  where it grows in sandy  moist habitats such as riverbanks. This is a shrub producing erect  branching stems approaching four meters in maximum height. The thick leaves are oblong to oval in shape and sometimes have roughly toothed edges. The shrub is dioecious  with male and female plants producing flower heads of different types. The foliage and flower heads are glandular and sticky. This species is very similar to its relative.  Common in sandy washes throughout the inner areas of Southern California through Texas. Fast riparian corridor plant for starting a plant community in a desert wash or hot interior valley drainage ditch.
